Hiroshima

In February I was offered a new teaching job. The training for the job took me to Hiroshima for the weekend so Andy tagged along.

Hiroshima is about the same size as Fukuoka but it has a very different atmosphere. You don't feel it straight away but once you start walking around the city you (well I did) feel that although everything is new, and that people have moved on that nobody has actually moved on at all. It all feels very sombre (even the shopping centres).

Being the busy person that I am I didn't have much time to see Hiroshima but Andy did. Here are some of his pictures:

A monument in the Peace park

A watch that survived the bomb.

I don't know what this is! Perhaps a building that survived the bomb but that is just a really rubbish guess!
